AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026: Vietnam beat Jordan 2-0 in first Group A match
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s U23 team made an impressive start to the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, defeating U23 Jordan 2-0 on January 6 at King Abdullah Sports City Hall in Saudi Arabia.

Goals by Dinh Bac and Hieu Minh marked Vietnam’s first-ever victory over Jordan at the U23 level.
With three points from the opening match, Vietnam U23 have significantly improved their chances of reaching the quarterfinals. Strong individual performances combined with cohesive team play helped the team overcome the toughest challenge in their group, providing positive momentum for upcoming matches in Saudi Arabia.
Vietnam U23 will face Kyrgyzstan U23 in their second match on January 9. The 2026 AFC U23 Championship features 16 teams and runs from January 7 to 25 in Saudi Arabia. Vietnam are in Group A alongside Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, and host nation Saudi Arabia.
