Overcoming headwinds, Vietnam lays cornerstone to break through into new era: PM

(VOVWORLD) - In the past five-year term and in 2025, with the motto “proactivity, flexibility, creativity, determination, and effectiveness,” and the spirit of “only discussing action, not retreat,” the Government has made great efforts in steering the country through “headwinds” and achieving many important socio-economic accomplishments, while strengthening national potential and standing.

In an interview with Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on socio-economic development results in 2025, the 2021-2025 Government term, and key tasks for 2026 on the occasion of the New Year 2026, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said to achieve double-digit growth and ensure continued rapid and sustainable development in the coming period, the Government will focus on key task groups. These include fine-tuning the institution and legislation, streamlining the organizational apparatus, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of two-tier local government, prioritizing growth promotion, and establishing a new growth model.
The government will also aim for ensuring the progress of strategic infrastructure projects, developing high-quality human resources to international standards, and comprehensively developing cultural and social sectors, as well as strengthening information and communications work, especially policy communication, to create momentum for society and promote the strength of the great national unity.
The Prime Minister emphasized that 2026 will be the first year of implementing Resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the first year of the 2026–2030 five-year plan. The Government and every cabinet member will devote their full capacity, intellect, and sense of responsibility to fulfill their assigned duties and tasks, together with the whole country, confidently advancing into a new era.
