In a statement, ASEAN Foreign Ministers said the nuclear test violated the UN Security Council’s resolutions. ASEAN reaffirmed the significance of peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and confirmed its effort of denuclearizing the peninsula in a peaceful manner.
Japan's Upper House has unanimously adopted a resolution condemning North Korea's latest nuclear test. In a resolution adopted on Friday, Japan demands that North Korea promptly abandon all its nuclear programs, accept inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency, and work for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
On the same day, North Korea resumed its radio communication along the border in response South Korea’s similar activities.
