Ambassador Ho, Acting Head of ASEAN SOM, said the venue of the 3-day summit sends a message that member countries are determined to join hands to promote economic recovery toward sustainability and inclusiveness.
Themed “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth,” the coming meeting reflects member countries’ wish and efforts to make the bloc a growth epicenter that leads cooperation and connectivity in the region and contributes to the shared goals of peace, stability, and prosperity.
Mr. Ho said the summit will approve important documents spanning all three pillars of the ASEAN Community – politics-security, economy, and culture-society – and covering economy, finance, development, society, major cooperation trends, and issues of shared concern.
At the summit, Vietnam will seek to strengthen ASEAN’s solidarity, self-reliance, and its ability to respond and adapt flexibly to changes, and uphold ASEAN's role, voice and responsibility in the region and the world.
