(VOVWORLD) - The recently concluded 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was a political milestone ushering in “a rising era for Vietnam”, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi at a ceremony in Brasília to commemorate the CPV’s 96th founding anniversary on February 3.

Ambassador Nghi noted the Congress’s goals of making Vietnam a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income status by 2030, and a developed, high-income nation by 2045, with an average annual GDP growth of 10% through 2030 and a GDP per capita of approximately 8,500 USD by the end of the decade.

According to the Ambassador, Vietnam is steadfastly pursuing an independent and self-reliant development path, positioning itself as a reliable friend and responsible partner of the international community. He said Vietnam seeks to expand cooperation with Brazil and other Latin American countries for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
