Corruption prevention must be done more strongly, says steering committee

(VOVWORLD) -The Central Steering Committee on Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena met on Monday in Hanoi to review performance in the past six months and set out key tasks for the last half of the year. In the past six months, the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat have issued more than 100 documents on Party building and preventing corruption, negativity and waste.
The National Assembly has amended the 2013 Constitution, passed 38 laws, and issued 45 resolutions. The work of preventing and combating waste has been intensified, coupled with the release of resources to serve socio-economic development.

The Steering Committee requested greater efforts to continue to prevent and fight corruption, waste, and negative acts more strongly, resolutely, and effectively. It urged a focus on full institutionalization of related policies and viewpoints issued since the beginning of the 13th term of the Party Central Committee.
It’s imperative to investigate and strive to thoroughly handle corruption cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee, according to the meeting.
