Made-in-Vietnam bulk carrier debuts

(VOVWORLD) - The Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) and Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company on Wednesday launched their second 65,000 DWA bulk carrier in a series of four, which is the largest cargo ship ever built by a Vietnamese company.

The high-tech vessel, (code name Truong Minh 02-VB66-02), can operate on international waters and satisfy the most demanding environmental requirements of any seaports around the world.

The carrier was designed as a joint venture between Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering JSC (VISEC) and Bluetech Finland Ltd. and built by the Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company. Construction monitoring was conducted by ClassNK (Japan) and the Vietnam Register.
