Countries discuss reconstruction in Gaza
(VOVWORLD) - Humanitarian aid has begun flowing into the region following the end of hostilities in Gaza, said US President Donald Trump on Monday after the signing ceremony of the Gaza Peace Agreement mediated by Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh. Hundreds of trucks carrying food, medical supplies, and other essential goods have entered Gaza.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who also attended the signing ceremony, stressed the need to focus on humanitarian cooperation, security, and reconstruction efforts. The UK has convened a three-day high-level conference on Gaza reconstruction.
According to the World Bank and the Egyptian government, the total funding required for Gaza’s reconstruction could reach 53 billion USD. The next phase of the agreement will focus on disarming Hamas, establishing a post-war civilian administration, and building a new Palestinian security force with the support of regional partners.
