Egypt's Supreme Election Commission officially announced on Tuesday the results of the national constitutional referendum held on 15 and 22 December.

17 million out of 51 million eligible voters cast ballots. 64 percent voted in favor of the new constitution, while 36 per cent voted against it. The Commission received a number of complaints of voter fraud, although balloting occurred under full judicial and media supervision.
