EU allows Ukraine to join single roaming area
(VOVWORLD) -A major step forward in Ukraine's integration with the EU has been recognized when the European Council just approved the proposal to include Ukraine in the EU's "Roam Like Home" area.

From the beginning of next year (January 1, 2026), Ukrainians can use mobile services in 27 EU countries without paying extra fees. This also brings similar benefits to EU users when they are in Ukraine.
The decision was welcomed by the European Commission (EC), which sees it as an important milestone in enhancing connectivity and facilitating people on both sides.
Before the policy comes into force in 2026, a voluntary agreement between EU and Ukrainian telecom operators has been extended until 31 December this year, ensuring that people on both sides enjoy affordable communication services. Operators have also shown their goodwill by making additional commitments and expanding participation opportunities.
