G7 meeting in France focusing on Iran, Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign ministers from the world’s leading industrialized countries are meeting in France amid growing global security uncertainties. The conflicts involving Iran and Ukraine will dominate much of the agenda.

One of the biggest challenges at the two-day gathering is the differences in approaches between the US and its European allies. While Washington is pushing for a tougher stance on Tehran, other members are prioritizing diplomatic solutions to avoid a wider conflict.

These different perspectives make it difficult for G7 to present a shared voice.

The impacts of the two ongoing conflicts continue to ripple outward. Tensions in the Middle East are putting pressure on energy supplies, driving up oil prices, and heightening concerns over inflation and the risk of global economic disruption.

The conflict in Ukraine is increasingly seen as a “yardstick” for Western unity and its ability to sustain commitments to long-term support.
