(VOV) – The Air Defence Command held a gala night and award ceremony for a contest on the Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air victory yesterday in Hanoi.

Launched in October by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union, the contest aimed to raise young people’s awareness of their tradition and history.  Duong Van An, Secretary of the Youth Union is the head of the contest’s organizing board: "Many participants traveled a long way to many far away places to search for precious documents and photos to make their entries more lively. Some are even visually impaired but wrote many touching articles. The participants sent their love and shared valuable historical documents and archives in their entries with the wish to look back to the country’s heroic past and look forward to the future".

The organizing board presented 1 special prize, 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 10 third prizes to individuals and 12 other prizes to organizations that helped to publicize the contest.
