Hanoi People’s Court to try Nguyen Van Dai on December 31
(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi People’s Court on December 10 announced that it will hold a trial on December 31 on Nguyen Van Dai, 56, for “producing, storing, disseminating, and propagating information, documents, and materials to sabotage the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” under Clause 2 of Article 117 of the Penal Code.

According to the court, Nguyen Van Dai has not appeared before the investigative authorities to date. The court has therefore called on him to surrender and be present at the hearing in order to exercise his right to self-defense in accordance with the law.
Previously, the Supreme People’s Procuracy issued an indictment against him. Dai, born in 1969 in Hung Yen province, resided in Bach Mai ward of Hanoi before leaving for Germany.
Investigative results show sufficient grounds to conclude that Nguyen Van Dai engaged in producing, storing, disseminating, and propagating information, documents, and materials to sabotage the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
With this, the Hanoi People’s Court will hear two separate cases on December 31, both involving charges of “producing, storing, disseminating, and propagating information and documents against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.” The first case involves defendants Le Trung Khoa, Pham Quang Thien, Do Van Nga, and Huynh Bao Duc. The second case involves defendant Nguyen Van Dai.
