The “Tet of love” program was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Union in collaboration with the city’s television station ahead of Tet, the Lunar New Year, Vietnam’s most important festival.
The money will be used to assist more than 4,000 Farmers' Union members and disadvantaged individuals through Tet gifts, the "Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" program, and providing tools to help them earn a living.
Part of the money will be allocated as student scholarships, Luong Dinh Cua scholarships for children of poor Farmers' Union members, savings books for farmers with a terminal illness, and educational support for orphans who lost their parents or caregivers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
