The stilt house, built according to the model at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, spans 100 square meters and its cost was paid by the family of Pham Duc Dau, a Vietnamese expatriate in Udon Thani.
“This program was established because we wanted to volunteer to build a stilt house named after Uncle Ho. It’s a great honor for our family to be able to build a replica of President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, similar to the one in Hanoi,” Dau said.
Dinh Hoang Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, Thailand, attended the inauguration ceremony. “The construction and inauguration of the stilt house by the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Udon Thani and the local Vietnamese expatriate community is a very important milestone. This project marks the beginning of the entire expansion the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site project,” according to Linh.
