Ineligible fishing vessels must not sail: Government Inspectorate
(VOVWORLD) - No ineligible vessels are allowed to go to sea, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Nguyen Quoc Doan said while inspecting efforts to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Long Hai Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, on Tuesday.

He urged local authorities to step up support for fishermen, particularly in administrative procedures, so that fishing vessels can meet the conditions for lawful operations.
At Tan Phuoc fishing port, the delegation boarded fishing vessels to check operational practices, documents, fishing logbooks, and vessel monitoring system (VMS) equipment.
They also inspected the electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) system.
