Ukraine reaffirms pursuit of diplomatic measures to end conflict

(VOVWORLD) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that recent negotiations between Ukraine and the United States in Berlin, Germany, were not easy but yielded tangible results.

He emphasized that achieving peace is a top priority for Ukraine, adding that Kyiv will continue pursuing diplomatic measures to end the conflict.

At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the same day, President Zelensky said the US had put forward proposals to end the Ukraine-Russia conflict, including issues related to territory, but did not demand concessions from Ukraine. As such, Ukraine could not “request” anything from Washington, but instead asked the US to convey Kyiv’s views to Moscow.
