International community condemns assassination of Haiti President
(VOVWORLD) - UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the assassination of Haiti President Jovenal Moise and said the perpetrators must be brought to justice.

The Secretary General called on all Haitians to preserve the constitutional order and remain united, saying the UN will stand with the government and people of Haiti.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said the incident may worsen the destabilization of Haiti and the perpetrators must be brought to justice soon.
US President Joe Biden said the US is ready to help the Haitian people. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson denounced the assassination and called on Haiti to stay calm.
Latin American leaders delivered their condolences to the Haitian people and strongly condemned the murder. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said he hopes stability and peace will soon return to Haiti. Colombian President Ivan Duque called on the Organization of American States to send an emergency mission to Haiti to secure the situation. Chilean President Sebastian Pinera called for unity and peace to strengthen democracy and find a way out of the grave crisis that Haiti is going through.
Leaders and officials in Cuba, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Honduras, Venezuela, and many other countries in Latin America also called for prompt identification of the perpetrators.
