“International Day of Culture and Arts” to be held biennially in Hanoi in October

(VOVWORLD) -The “International Day of Culture and Arts” will take place every two years in Hanoi on the weekend closest to October 10 – the Liberation Day, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This event will be established as an annual international cultural diplomatic event, using “culture as the foundation and arts as the medium” to connect nations. It will promote people-to-people exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community, while enriching the cultural and spiritual life, and raise cultural awareness of Hanoi residents in particular and the Vietnamese people in general.

The event will also contribute to building a modern cultural-entertainment ecosystem, helping Vietnam keep pace with global creative economy trends; strongly stimulate the cultural and tourism industries; create jobs; and boost domestic consumption.

It will feature diverse, creative, and engaging activities such as exhibitions, seminars, fairs, and integrated culture–tourism–technology showcases.

Visitors can expect a wide range of art performances, fashion shows, talk shows, cultural experience booths of traditional crafts, costumes, music, painting, visual arts, creative products, competitions with voting and awards, cultural games and community exchanges, as well as introductions to Vietnamese and international cuisines.

Each year, the organizers will invite one country to participate as the Guest of Honor or Country in Focus for the event.
