Following two rounds of indirect talks with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in Muscat, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said discussions took place in a constructive atmosphere and marked a good beginning. The two sides agreed to continue meetings, focusing on the nuclear issue.

Iran stressed that restraint from threats and pressure is a prerequisite for dialogue.

Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who mediated the talks, also described the talks as useful, with both sides agreeing to meet again.

The US expressed hope that Iran would make significant nuclear-related concessions in future talks.
