Iran says it's ready for talks with the West to settle differences

(VOVWORLD) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Tehran is ready to hold constructive talks to settle differences with the West, adding the negotiations should be based on mutual respect rather than pressure and threats.

In an interview with IRIB news agency, Araqchi condemned the new Western sanctions under the pretext that Tehran is supplying arms to Russia. Reminding Western governments of the futility of sanctions, the foreign minister said they cannot impose their will on Iran by resorting to sanctions.

Last Wednesday, Araghchi insisted that Iran did not send missiles to Russia as accused by the West, emphasizing that imposing sanctions against Iran is not a solution and cannot solve the problem.

Accusing Iran of transferring short-range ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the conflict with Ukraine, last Tuesday, the US, the UK, France, and Germany imposed a number of additional sanctions against Iran, including restrictions on the Iranian Airways (Iran Air).
