(VOVWORLD) - Global instability is dealing a severe blow to economies worldwide, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on Thursday during talks with US President Donald Trump in Washington, DC.
She voiced deep concern over the impact of the Iran conflict on the global energy supply chain.
“Right now, in the Middle East and in the entire world, we’re experiencing a very tough security environment, and the global economy is about to suffer a huge hit because of this development. Against this backdrop, I firmly believe it’s only you, Donald, who can achieve peace across the world,” said Takaichi.
Takaichi expressed appreciation for Trump’s continued commitment to the Japan-US alliance, as the security environment in the Indo-Pacific grows increasingly challenging.
