(VOVworld) – The Defense Ministers of South Korean and Japan during a telephone conversation on Friday condemned Pyongyang's nuclear test and pledged to increase tight cooperation to cope with the issue.

Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani and his South Korea's counterpart Han Min-goo agreed also agreed on information exchange on the situation concerning North Korea. The talk revealed the efforts by Seoul and Tokyo to enhance military coordination.

The same day, during a phone talk with Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said China insists on a principle to make the Korean peninsula free of nuclear, maintain peace and stability there, resolve disputes via dialogues. Wang reiterated Beijing’s stance on resolutely objecting any Pyongyang’s nuclear tests adding that Beijing is ready to contact with Seoul to deal with the situation resume the nuclear issue to the negotiating table.

North Korea held a major meeting in Pyongyang involving more than 100,000 people to celebrate the success of the fourth nuclear test and the birthday of its leader Kim Jong Un.
At the meeting, Kim Ki Nam, Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, criticized South Korea’s resumption of propaganda broadcasts along the border.
