Abe did not give details but local media reported the visit could take place on December 20 or 21.

This will be the first visit to Japan by an Iranian president since 2000. Abe said he will urge Iran to comply with the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the P5+1 group, which includes the US, the UK, France, China, Russia, and Germany.
