Lawmakers voice support for 2013 Constitution revision

(VOVWORLD) -Lawmakers on Wednesday discussed the draft Resolution of the National Assembly revising the 2013 Constitution for the first time and the amended draft Law on Organization of Local Government. Many said they fully agreed with the revision. 

Deputy Nguyen Tam Hung representing Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, said, “The contents of this amendment and supplement are very necessary and timely, reflecting the requirements of the country's development and the building and perfection of the Socialist Rule of Law State in the new period. I highly appreciate the inheritance and development of the draft Law. I want to emphasize that for the amended provisions to truly be effective, there must be coordinated solutions in terms of law and enforcement.”

Deputy Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh of Vinh Long province delegation, emphasized, The 2013 Constitution revision is undertaken by the National Assembly carefully, objectively, democratically, and scientifically. The procedures have been fully implemented as prescribed by law. The revision has been thoroughly done throughout the political system and soliciting public opinions. In particular, the collection of public opinions through the VneID app is not only a strong step forward in administrative procedure reform, but also demonstrates the determination to build an e-Government to serve the people effectively and practically.”

Discussing the revised Law on Organization of Local Government, deputies agreed to the organization of administrative units and the model of two-tier local government, aiming to eliminate intermediate levels, streamline the apparatus, better serve the needs of the people, and meet the requirements in the new period.

Deputy To Van Tam of Kon Tum province, said, This policy will not undermine the role of State management and social governance, but create the basis for streamlining the organization, optimizing resources, eliminating the intermediate tier, building a government close to the people, promptly addressing the legitimate demands of the people. The institutionalization of the Party’s policy in the Constitution has great theoretical and practical significance.”
