(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s top chess player Le Quang Liem on Sunday took the victory at the HDBank International Open Chess Tournament 2013 which concluded in Ho Chi Minh city after 6 days of competition. Drawing with Hungarian rival Berkes Ferenc in the 9^th match gave Liem a score of 7.5 with 6 wins and 3 draws. Player Lu Shanglei of China finished 2^nd with 7 points.

The win was sweet for Liem, who lost his title to Chinese players in previous seasons despite being top-seeded.
