French aircraft maker Airbus said it wants to be an important partner in Vietnam's defense sector and increase sales of its C295 tactical transport aircraft.
Airbus said it has helped build local expertise in operating and maintaining the C295, enhancing readiness and reducing reliance on external support. This partnership ensures the C295 fleet is locally maintained, enabling quick responses and supporting Vietnam’s long-term defense goals. Airbus Helicopters is promoting its H225M and H145 helicopters, as well as the Flexrotor unmanned air vehicle at the ongoing Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024.
Boeing Vietnam Managing Director Michael Nguyen called Boeing's participation in the expo a key step in its partnership with the Vietnamese government. He noted that Boeing will showcase its advanced defense and security solutions, including capabilities for humanitarian aid.
Lockheed Martin, the US aerospace company behind the C-130J aircraft, is attending the expo to strengthen its support for security and peace in the Indo-Pacific and expand global partnerships, including bolstering defense industry resilience, said Flightglobal.
