At a welcome meeting, Colonel Shatrujeet Signh, Captain of the ICGS SAKSHAM ship of Indian Coast Guard, said he hopes that the trip would leave Vietnamese officers and soldiers good impressions about an India that is hospitable and rich in cultural traditions.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, called the visit a valuable opportunity for the two sides to enhance understanding, tighten the friendship, and boost cooperation.
It will also help improve law enforcement capacity and coordination ability to handle emergency situations at sea, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, security and safety in regional waters, he said.

During their stay in Kochi city, the Vietnam Coast Guard members will pay a courtesy visit to the Commander of Region 4 and the Rescue and Training Center of the Indian Coast Guard; involve in sports exchange and cultural tours; and join training on search and rescue, fire and explosion prevention, and response to oil spills at sea.
