National Assembly approves appointments of Ministers of Finance, Transport
(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly on Thursday continued procedures to elect members of the Standing Committee and the Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly.

It also approved the Prime Minister’s proposals to appoint the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Transport for the 2021–2026 term and the Chief Justice’s proposals for appointing judges to the Supreme People’s Court. Tran Hong Minh, currently Secretary of the Cao Bang provincial Party Committee, was appointed as the new Minister of Transport, succeeding Mr. Nguyen Van Thang.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang was appointed as Minister of Finance.
The National Assembly voted to adopt a Resolution to elect Mr. Le Quang Tung to the National Assembly Standing Committee and as Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly.
By electronic vote, the National Assembly also approved the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan and Mr. Le Tien as Judges of the Supreme People’s Court.
The same day, the National Assembly also discussed proposed amendments to the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations and deliberated on a draft resolution to reduce value-added tax (VAT).
