(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech at the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly continues to receive great acclaim from the international community.

Entitled ‘a peace appeal from Vietnam’, the New Germany newspaper on Wednesday ran an article saying that Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is the representative of a country which used to be linked to war, separation, blood, and tears. As a result, the Vietnamese leader’s call for the world to do its best to avoid all kinds of conflicts, ensure peace, and condemn any acts of war provocation is something worth thinking about. The article reported Vietnam’s policy of being ready to resolve East Sea-related disputes peacefully and in line with the international law.
Vietnam’s readiness to participate in the UN’s peace-keeping force is a way of showing gratitude to international friends who helped Vietnam during its wars for national independence, and reunification and its more recent fight against poverty.

The newspaper quoted Prime Minister Dung’s call for the international community to move toward post-2015 development plans and joint efforts to boost peace, drive down poverty, and protect the globe.

On the same day, a number of other German online newspapers ran articles applauding Mr Dung’s speech. The website www.aseantoday.de, which specializes in reporting on ASEAN members, covered a range of news stories about Vietnam – an active and responsible member of the UN.
