The military government has vowed to track down the attackers, along with their sponsors and accomplices, and ensure they are brought to justice.
In a televised speech on the Tele Sahel TV, Niger’s Interior Ministry said the attack on March 21 in Fambita village was carried out by militants affiliated with the Islamic State in the Sahara. As local Muslims gathered in a mosque for an important religious ceremony, armed terrorists surrounded the building and launched a brutal massacre.
