(VOVWORLD) -North Korea has rejected South Korea's call for a declaration to end the Korean War. North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Ri Thae Song dismissed President Moon Jae-in’s call as premature so long as US policies remain unchanged, North Korea state media KCNA reported.

The 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice not a peace treaty.
President Moon has said North Korea is maintaining its own moratorium on nuclear and long-range missile tests, apparently leaving the door open for dialogue.
On Tuesday, he addressed the UN General Assembly and repeated a call for a declaration to formally end the Korean War.
