The news agency quoted a foreign ministry spokesman that President Barack Obama was trying hard to deny North Korea's strategic position as a legitimate nuclear weapons state. North Korea also declared to continue its nuclear development programs, and criticized President Obama on seeking for further sanctions after its fifth and largest atomic test.

On the same day, TASS Russian news agency reported that the North Korea's National Reconciliation Council (NRC) strongly criticized South Korea President Park Gyun-hye’s negative judgments on the Korean Peninsula issues. NRC declared that President Gyun-hye needs to “refrain hasty conclusions” on North Korea’s social regime. NRC also claimed that North Korea will continue its policies to develope the economy and nuclear power simultaneously.

Meanwhile, Kim Geon, Director-General of the North Korean Nuclear Affairs Bureau at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Sunday that Seoul will try to persuade the United Nations Security Council to pursue a new sanction package against North Korea. However, he refused to give further details, saying that discussion was going on between relevant parties.
