Party leader: Australia is one of Vietnam's foreign policy priorities

(VOVWORLD) -Australia has always been one of Vietnam's foreign policy priorities and Vietnam’s major partner in the region, Party General Secretary To Lam said Monday at a reception for outgoing Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski.

The General Secretary applauded the Ambassador's positive contributions and efforts to promote the bilateral relationship, which culminated in the upgrading of ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He congratulated the Ambassador on completing his very successful term of office in Vietnam.
The Party leader said that within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two countries need to continue to beef up political trust and share visions and views on regional and global issues. He welcomed the recent implementation of ministerial-level dialogue mechanisms that both sides have paid attention to.

Ambassador Goledzinowski said that during his term, the Australia-Vietnam relationship has made substantial progress. He expressed his hope that in the next 50 years, the relationship between the two countries will make greater strides than the past 50 years.
The Ambassador pledged that no matter what new position he holds, he will always have a good impression of Vietnam and strive to foster good relations between Vietnam and Australia.
