Party leader urges economic restructuring, stronger role for Vietnamese businesses in global supply chain
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam on Tuesday called on relevant agencies to develop concrete strategies to restructure the economy, gradually ensure trade balance, and meet growth targets.

At a working session with ministries and sectors in Hanoi on international trade relations, the Party leader stressed the need to closely link trade with technological upgrading, modern equipment, and high-quality investment.
He urged greater efforts to increase localization rates, promote technology transfer, and strengthen the role of Vietnamese enterprises in global supply chains.
General Secretary Lam also called for accelerating sustainable exports, strengthening domestic production capacity, and diversifying export and import markets. It is essential to enhance inspection and supervision in production, quality management, testing and quarantine, as well as the management of growing areas and product traceability, he said.
Mr. Lam also emphasized the need to increase the added value of Vietnam’s industrial products.
