(VOVworld) – Party leader Ngyen Phu Trong met Ambassador Franz Jessen, Head of the EU delegation to Vietnam on Wednesday in Hanoi. Trong praised the positive developments in Vietnam-EU relations since both sides established their diplomatic relations in 1990. He reiterated that Vietnam considers EU its leading and prioritized partner, saying the signing of the Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and the launch of Free Trade Agreement negotiations are major milestones, offering opportunities and challenges to both. He added that Vietnam and the EU need good will and sincere cooperation to make the most of their relationship. Party leader Trong wished Ambassador Jessen success during his mission, as it will further ties with Vietnam and benefit of all concerned.
