(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday chaired the Government meeting with 26 localities affected by Typhoon Yagi on recovery solutions.

He ordered swift support for people and businesses to stabilize their lives and restore production and business. To start with, the meeting observed a minute of silence to remember the victims killed by storms and floods.

Prime Minister Chinh pointed out four topics of meeting: urgently overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi; quickly normalize the situation; restore production and business; and boost economic growth.

The meeting also re-evaluated the leadership and direction of responding to typhoon. Emphasizing the spirit of “all for the people, all for the national development,” the Prime Minister called on participants to contribute their opinions and propose solutions to achieve the set targets.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as of 6 a.m. on Sunday, 281 people were reported dead and 67 others missing. Lao Cai province is the hardest hit with 118 dead and 50 missing. 232,000 houses were destroyed, more than 48,700 hectares of crops were flooded.
