(VOVWORLD) - As part of his working visit to Dien Bien province and in the lead-up to the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2026), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the heroes of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory.

At the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House located at the E2 Hill historical site, the Prime Minister and his delegation laid flowers and offered incense in remembrance of the great President Ho Chi Minh — a national hero and world culture figure who devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation and to the nation and its people.
The Prime Minister and the delegation then visited the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs’ Temple to offer flowers and incense in profound gratitude and remembrance of the fallen heroes. Built on the historical site of Hill F, located just east of the famous A1 Hill, the site of the temple held strategic importance for the Vietnamese army, serving as a key position to control the battlefield and launch attacks toward A1 Hill. Many Vietnamese soldiers sacrificed their lives on this hill.

At the A1 Martyrs’ Cemetery, about 100 meters south of the A1 Hill historical site, lie the remains of 644 soldiers who bravely fought and sacrificed their lives during the historic 1954 campaign.
Prime Minister Chinh and members of the delegation respectfully offered incense in tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap and the heroes and martyrs who fell on the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.
