(VOVWORLD) - More than 2,100 voters in the Tho Chau Special Zone of An Giang province cast their ballots on Sunday to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

The early voting is being held seven days ahead of the nationwide election date.
Five polling stations have been arranged across the special zone to ensure convenient voting for residents and stationed armed forces units.
Located more than 200 kilometers from the mainland, the Tho Chau administration has coordinated with relevant agencies to arrange transportation for election documents to the island and additional ferry trips will be held on the Tho Chau–Phu Quoc route on Monday to transport ballots to the mainland.
In recent days, public communication campaigns have been intensified through loudspeaker system, electronic boards, official websites and social media platforms. Information of candidates, voters’ rights and obligations, and the election schedule have been broadcast six times daily on the local loudspeaker system.
