In this place, a letter from President Ho Chi Minh was announced on July 27, 1947 to designate July 27 as the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, to honor and pay debt of gratitude to those who have rendered a great service to the nation.

At the historical site, Prime Minister Chinh said that over the past 77 years, the Party and State have always paid special attention to and adopted preferential policies for wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, policy families, and people with meritorious services to the revolution, considering this an important and regular political task.

The Prime Minister requested better implementation of policies and laws for people with meritorious services, ensuring that their living standard is of average or better in their residential area. He urged for consideration of appropriate increases in social allowances and preferential subsidies; mobilization of social resources, and "repaying gratitude" so as to compensate for national contributors.

Prime Minister Chinh called on each organization and individual to creatively deploy practical activities to express their deep gratitude to those who devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, unification and defense.
