(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested Vietnam and Qatar continue to coordinate closely and promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level visits, to strengthen political trust and open up new cooperation opportunities.

PM Chinh was speaking during Friday reception in Hanoi for Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, who is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 3rd Political Consultation between the two countries’ foreign ministries.
PM Chinh commended the development of Vietnam-Qatar relations in recent years, as well as the results of the two foreign ministries’ Political Consultation. He also proposed Qatari businesses and investment funds increase their investments in Vietnam in areas of mutual interest, such as oil and gas, infrastructure, agriculture, green ports, and emerging fields like green technology, semiconductors, and electric vehicles, adding that there is still much room for economic cooperation.
Both sides need to promote negotiations towards the signing of agreements on consular, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as cooperation between localities and people-to-people exchanges, thereby creating a legal corridor to deepen and diversify their bilateral relationship, PM Chinh said.
Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Al-Muraikhi said he is impressed with Vietnam’s rapid development and commended Vietnam’s important role in the region. He added that during their Political Consultations, both ministries discussed and proposed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in politics and diplomacy, investment, trade, oil and gas, infrastructure development, agriculture, Halal, and other fields of mutual interests.
