The ceremony, themed “Countering Cybercrime – Sharing Responsibility – Securing Our Future”, will be held on October 25 and 26.

Vietnam considers combating cybercrime one of the priorities of its national security policy and, together with the international community, actively participates in the fight, President Cuong said.

The Convention sets out a legal framework for international anti-cybercrime cooperation that ensures that member countries, especially developing and vulnerable countries, are supported in dealing with cybercrime.

The UN General Assembly’s adoption of the Convention against Cybercrime in December 2024 and the signing ceremony in Hanoi demonstrate the sense of responsibility nations feel for protecting cyberspace, a shared asset of mankind, President Cuong said.

Vietnam, he noted, hopes this event will be a platform for promoting dialogue, sharing experience, strengthening partnerships between governments, international organizations, and the private sector, and combatting cybercrime.
