(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged Quang Nam province to adopt breakthrough policies to attract investment, develop tourism, apply advanced technology in agricultural production, and reduce poverty.
Phuc made the appeal at the 11^th Quang Nam provincial People’s Council meeting on Wednesday in Tam Ky City, where he hailed the province’s socio-economic performance over the past 6 months. He praised local fishermen for their contribution to national economic development and maritime sovereignty defense since China’s illegal placement of oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone. Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: "The Vietnamese Party, government, National Assembly, and all Vietnamese people strongly oppose China’s illegal actions. We are all determined and will take steps to defend our sacred national sovereignty. We’ll use any available peaceful measures including diplomatic and legal procedures to resolve the issue."
