Quang Ninh targets GRDP growth of more than 12.5% in 2026

(VOVWORLD) - Quang Ninh has set ambitious targets for 2026, including gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of more than 12.5%, GRDP per capita of at least 11,800 USD, and total local budget revenue exceeding the central Government’s target.

The province also aims for processing and manufacturing to account for over 14% of GRDP, while the digital economy contributes more than 12%.

In 2025, Quang Ninh maintained double-digit growth, with GRDP estimated at 11.89%, ranking seventh among the country’s 34 provinces and centrally run cities. GRDP per capita is estimated at 10,402 USD. The services sector, led by tourism, contributed more than half of overall growth, while foreign direct investment (FDI) reached around 1 billion USD. Social welfare, national defense, and security were also ensured.

Provincial Party Secretary Quang Minh Cuong said Quang Ninh has issued a resolution aimed at creating breakthroughs in economic growth and improving urban quality, with the goal of becoming a centrally run city in the near future.

“We must create breakthroughs in economic growth, with determination to achieve GRDP growth of over 12.5% in 2026,” he said. “We will accelerate economic restructuring and build a growth model driven primarily by science, technology, and innovation. With limited time remaining in 2025, the entire province must make an all-out effort to fulfill the set targets.”
