Ramuwan (also known as Ramadan) is a month of fasting and devotion observed by Islamic clerics and a time for the community to remember deceased relatives. This year, Ramuwan is celebrated from February 15 to March 19, featuring a series of rituals including grave visits, ancestral worship ceremonies, and the month-long fast at mosques.

From early morning, clerics dressed in white traditional attire, with white headscarves adorned with red tassels, accompanied families to cemeteries to present offerings and perform the grave-visiting rites. Families prayed for their ancestors’ blessings for good health, academic success, smooth livelihoods, prosperous harvests, and family happiness. The ritual offers an opportunity for descendants to honor their ancestors and for relatives to reunite after a year apart.
Ramuwan is the largest festival of the year for the Cham Muslim Ba Ni community. In addition to its spiritual significance, the festival is a time for families to gather, wish for peace and happiness in the new year, and preserve and promote the unique cultural identity of the Cham people, while strengthening national unity at the local level.
On this occasion, representatives of the Lam Dong provincial authorities, along with officials from relevant departments and localities, also visited and presented gifts to temples and Ba Ni Muslim dignitaries.
