ROK asks DPRK for talks

(VOVworld) - Republic of Korea President Park Geun-Hye has said she hopes that North Korea will soon carry out inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation as well as consultations on peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.

In a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Park called on North Korea to demonstrate its commitment to improving ties with South Korea by actions.

According to Park, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un's New Year statement that he was open to the highest-level talks is good news. She said preparations should be made for a new era on the unified Korean peninsula.
