Russia ready to continue dialogue with US at a commensurate level
(VOVWORLD) -Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that Russia appreciated the visit of the Russian State Duma delegation to the US and considered it an important step towards restoring bilateral dialogue, which declined to its lowest point in years.
According to Peskov, amid the Russia-US relations being almost "stagnant in all areas," the initial contacts between the two sides, although cautious, are of great significance and could contribute to restoring bilateral relations.
The Kremlin spokesman affirmed Russia's readiness to continue promoting dialogue at a level commensurate with the US's readiness, and said he would report the content of the contacts to President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, a delegation from the Russian Duma made a two-day visit to the United States at the invitation of the US side, where they discussed the conflict in Ukraine, the Middle East, and strategic topics of mutual interest. The trip was prepared in secret.
