Russia says it doesn’t know what differences of opinion regarding the ongoing peace negotiations there are inside Ukraine, noting that several issues can’t be handled entirely in public.

US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not fully grasped the peace proposal drafted by Washington. Zelenskyy, meanwhile, said Kyiv is pursuing its own security agreement with the US and several European allies, and plans to meet the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany in London to rally support.

Peskov said Russia and the US are working at the expert level to ensure that the next meeting between President Putin and President Trump delivers substantive outcomes. He added that there are currently no plans to hold the meeting before the New Year.

The leaders of Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden urged the European Union on Monday to promptly put forward a proposal to use Russia’s frozen assets to help Ukraine.
