Special envoy of Party General Secretary To Lam meets leaders of major Russian Parties

(VOVWORLD) -Special Envoy of Party General Secretary To Lam and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung met in Moscow on Tuesday with Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party, and Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, to brief them on the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Minister Le Hoai Trung said the 14th Congress outlined Vietnam’s development directions for a new era, emphasizing a growth model driven by science, technology and digital transformation, alongside cultural, social and environmental sustainability. For the first time, foreign affairs, together with defense and security, were identified as a regular and key task.

He reaffirmed Vietnam’s high regard for its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia and Party-to-Party ties, and proposed measures to strengthen cooperation.

For their part, Russian party leaders affirmed Vietnam as a trusted partner in the Asia–Pacific and expressed readiness to expand cooperation in nuclear energy, defense–security, science–technology, culture and education, as well as theoretical exchanges and parliamentary and local-level cooperation.
