(VOVworld) - A meeting took place in Lao Cai province to review 3 years of implementing the national target program on new rural development in the northern mountain region. Participants proposed solutions to resolve pending difficulties to help the process there keep pace with that of other provinces nationwide. Tang Minh Loc, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, says: “Due to a low starting base in terms of development and the backward level of agricultural production, the implementation of new rural development in the northern mountain region over the past three years has faced more challenges than in other areas. The fight here is not only against poverty but also backwardness. We need special solutions for the process here.”
